Except a grain of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone.
What was Jesus really saying to us? Paul said I die daily, what is he saying here?
It simply means to kill out your will.
We have a very strong will. We go about our daily lives fulfiling our plans and dreams for the future. We give God a small part of our day. Sometimes nothing, just when we slow down enough to go to church on sunday, if we even do this.
When we put him (Jesus) first in our lives and fall into the ground and die. We will,
1. Make sure we pray first thing in the morning. Pushing against all odds, no matter what is going on around us, we will put it on hold until we pray through and die out to the self will. After we pray our daily routine will change, we will do his will instead of ours. He knows we have carnal things to do and he understands, he will not take all our time. And if you die daily you will have a sound mind, to do your carnal things, you will be peaceful and can think clear, instead of being depressed and upset. You will have joy, and peace and have knowledge and a sound mind to do all your business. See God is the one that made your brain, and he can increase your knowledge, but if you don't serve him, saten will drive you to your wits end and will even make some a nut, one that can't or couldn't run a business if they tried. If we are not doing this, then we have not made up our minds to put him first. Some days we will and some days we want. Double minded, up and down, unstable. If you are chosen, God knows how to stablize you. When you finnally put him first and stop being afraid of the devil and his threats, trying to stop you. Like putting fear in you that some one is going to hurt you if you don't do this or that, pray anyway and God will shut the lions mouth. You then, will have strength over your enemies and not until. You will, as you pray daily putting him first, began to have power over the devil. But not until. If you don't put him first and under your feet, he will torment you all day long, you will constantly be asking for help and prayer. When you put him first you will begin to put the devil on the run, he will no longer want to hang around you but will avoid you. You will find that not too many people want to be around you, except for when they need help. It becomes a lonely, isolated life, except for when you are gathered together with the believers. You are spending a lot of time in prayer, so you can set the captive free, when Jesus sends you out to minister to people. It may be in wal-mart, it don't have to be in a pulpit.
Are you willing, most no one is. No fleshly person wants to die out to his will. Was I willing? No. But God knows how to get his chosen willing, after he puts them in many many fires. Not everyone is chosen, everyone is called but not all chosen to preach the gospel, or to be a prophet, teacher, evangelist, missionary etc. Some are just housewifes, mothers and dads working and raising their children and going to church each week and living the life infront of the sinners. Helping them find a better way. The chosen for a office in God is different, they have to be totally sold out, so they can feed the people.
Don't follow me and do as I am doing, but follow Jesus and do what he wants you to do. It will be totally different than what I am doing. I may preach, you may sing, one may prophecy and on and on. All parts of the body work together to edify. We can learn from each other and help each other, if we would stop trying to be like each other. Be what ever God wants you to be.
